Ioniq 6 towing a small trailer: 53–55% of non-towing range on flat terrain. The grade effect you described is accurate — a 3% sustained grade costs more than the additional wind resistance of the trailer. I now route to avoid mountain passes when towing. Flat interstate adds maybe 20 minutes to the trip; the mountain pass alternative adds 60+ in charging stops.

Came from an Ioniq 5 RWD to the Ioniq 6 specifically for the efficiency gain. Same E-GMP platform, same motor, completely different aerodynamics — I gained about 25–30 Wh/mile in my driving. If efficiency matters more than cargo space, the 6 is worth a test drive before committing to the 5.

3.6% at 40k miles is on the favorable side of Recurrent's median for this cohort — their data shows about 4–5% by 50k for daily 80% charging habits. Your numbers are consistent with the dataset. Daily 80% charging is genuinely protective; the owners who see 10%+ loss early are the ones consistently charging to 100% or doing heavy DC fast charging.

Ioniq 6 here. 231 Wh/mile over 22k miles. Depreciation has been brutal on 2023 model buyers — Hyundai price cuts and the refreshed model killed resale. I'd factor a 25–30% first-year depreciation into any EV cost comparison now, especially on Korean brands that have been aggressive on pricing.
